A Personal Assistant is required to support a teenage boy to access the community.  

This boy has a Learning Disability and Autism, so some experience would be preferred.

Profile of the boy you would work with:

Likes being outdoors, walking, swimming and trampolining.

You will always be working with another Personal Assistant when out in the community.

Hours of work would be 3 hours every Saturday morning.

In school holidays 3 to 6 hours midweek.

Rate of Pay is £9.79 per hour.

5.6 weeks paid annual leave.

Maindee NH

A Personal Assistant is required to support a teenage girl to access the community.

Personal assistant wanted for 13-year-old girl who has Autism Spectrum Disorder and learning disabilities. 

Profile of the girl you would work with:

Likes: Museums, Swimming, Shopping, Cooking, Colouring, Drawing, Arts and craft.

Dislikes: Very loud noises, People arguing or having a loud disagreement or discussion, Texture of fresh fruit, being called names or pet names.

Hours of work would be 12 hours a week over a 4-week period.

Preferred working pattern is 4 hours on a Saturday or Sunday 3 out of 4 weekends.

Rate of Pay is £9.79 per hour.

Personal Assistant - Llandevaud KT

A Personal Assistant is required to support a man in his sixties as he has Parkinson’s Disease.

His condition is complex and it can be hard to predict when he will need assistance.

When he has a flare up, he needs assistance with the following functions:

Support with Mobilising and Transfers

Personal Care – Dressing/undressing, bathing and assistance accessing the toilet.

Help with preparation of food and feeding.

He will need prompting for medication as he is on a strict 3 hourly routine.

Assistance moving into a new position on occasion to prevent pressure sores.

The successful applicant will receive bespoke moving and handling training relevant to the needs of the job.

It is preferred that applicants have some relevant experience of caring for or working with people in a care setting.

The employer will arrange and pay for a DBS enhanced check.

Hours available are 30 hours per week. 

There will be a two-week rota as follows:

Week 1. Monday, Saturday and Sunday plus two other days  - to be negotiated at interview

Week 2. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday plus two other days  - to be negotiated at interview.

Each day worked will be from 9.00 AM and 3.00 PM

Hours are paid at a rate of £9.79 per hour.

He enjoys the cinema, walking a dog, loves meeting people and plays computer games.

He has Down’s syndrome, but has no mobility issues and has good communication skills. 

You may need you to check that he understands things properly sometimes.

Times required are 3 hours every Sunday 10.00 AM to 1.00 PM, though this may be negotiable.

Personal assistant - Spytty/Glan Llyn area 

10 hours per month

A personal assistant is required for a happy, energetic 14-year-old boy with ADHD.

You are required to work five hours a day on two Saturdays each month - the hours will be arranged following a successful interview.  

Applicants must have experience or understanding of working with children with ADHD/Anxiety and be able to deal with behaviours associated with children with limited communication.

This is a very active young boy, who needs 1:1 attention at all times and care must be taken when outdoors to ensure that he stays safe.

Other duties may involve staying in the home environment to support him with suitable fun or play activities that he would enjoy.  

The employer will arrange and pay for a DBS enhanced check and the successful employees must have their own car and the required insurance cover.

Personal assistant - Spytty/Glan Llyn area

A personal assistant is required to support a happy, energetic 12-year-old boy with ADHD with activities for 11 weekday hours x 13 weeks of school holidays. 

Hours of work will be five hours on Mondays between 8.30am and 1.30pm and another six hours a week, days and times to be arranged with the successful applicant. 

You must have experience or understanding of working with children with ADHD/Anxiety and be able to deal with behaviours associated with children with limited communication.

Personal assistant - Maindee

A personal assistant is required to support a nine-year-old boy to access the community. The role will include taking him to various leisure facilities and assisting with play. He loves being outdoors, is very active and enjoys going to the park, trampolining, swimming, etc.

This youngster is non-verbal, has a diagnosis of ASD and uses PECS to communicate. Therefore, any prospective employee must have experience/understanding of working with children with disabilities and possess the ability to deal with behaviours associated with limited communication.

Working days and hours are Sundays for four hours, preferably between 11am and 3pm, and school holidays for four hours weekly (2 x 4 weekday hours) at a rate of £9.50 per hour - days and times to be negotiated following a successful interview. 

The employer will arrange and pay for a DBS enhanced check and the successful employees must have their own car and business insurance.

Personal assistant - Baneswell

A personal assistant is required for 5 hours a week at a rate of £9.50 to support a 25-year-old male (days and hours to be agreed following a successful interview).  
Duties will include supporting with daily tasks such as shopping, cooking, housework and general life skills.

Personal Assistant/Carer - Bettws 

A Personal Assistant/Carer is needed to help a man in his late 20’s to maintain his independence and dignity.  He lives with his mother and she needs someone to provide this care for her son.

You would support this man with aspects of his personal care.

Mornings – 30 minutes between 7.00 A.M. and 8.00 A. M. Monday to Friday

He needs help with accessing the toilet, washing himself, cleaning his teeth and getting dressed in the mornings.

Evenings – 30 minutes at 9.00 P.M. to 9.30 P.M.

Personal Assistant - Beechwood 

We are looking for a Personal Assistant to be a companion to an older man whilst his daughter has a break in her caring duties. 

 He is registered blind, has vascular dementia and some cognitive impairments, but still enjoys a good conversation.

Most personal care duties are met by an agency that is employed to carry out these duties.  You may on accession need to make a drink or a snack  and there will be times that he needs help to access toilet facilities.

Hours available are 112 per year.  These hours may be used 4 hours per fortnight, but if you can be flexible, they could be used less frequently for longer hours.  You would negotiate this at interview.

Rate of Pay £9.79 per hour

Personal Assistant/ Childcare – Malpas Newport

A mother of two young boys who both have Learning Disabilities and Autism is looking for a Personal Assistant to take out each of her sons.

The children also have communication and speech difficulties and are non- verbal.

The boys can show some Challenging Behaviours and therefore require 1:1 work ratio.

The boys need close supervision when outside to keep them safe.

Some Experience working children who have Learning Disability would be preferred.

Hours of Work: 3 hours per week during school term and 6 hours per week in school holidays.  This is for each boy.

Preferred Hours would be Saturday during school term time and Saturday + another day in school holidays.

A Personal Assistant is required to support a young boy to play at home with a view to going out in the community once he gets to know you.

This young boy has Autism, is nonverbal and has some learning difficulties.

Hours are 3 hours in school term on a weekend and 3 extra hours in school holidays during the week.

It is preferred that you have some experience of working with children who have complex needs.

Caerleon - Female Personal Assistant

Female Personal Assistants required to support a disabled woman in her fifties who is a wheelchair user to maintain her independence.

Duties will be carried out at her home and will include help with washing, bathing and dressing, as well as preparing meals and doing some light domestic tasks.

Some assistance to go into the community may be required.

2 hours every Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 9.00 AM to 11.00 AM

Driver required for community access but and would need to drive employers Disability vehicle.  You could however be employed purely for care needs if you are not a driver.
